Frequently Asked Questions

  • We believe the best wedding photos happen when people feel comfortable enough to fully be themselves. As a married couple ourselves, we know the moments that end up mattering most usually aren’t the perfectly posed ones, they’re the real, emotional, in-between moments that bring you right back to how it all felt. Our approach blends documentary storytelling with an editorial eye, allowing us to capture your day naturally while still creating imagery that feels intentional, elevated, and timeless. By mixing digital with film, we’re able to create photographs that feel both modern and nostalgic, polished while still deeply human. At the end of the day, our goal is simple, to create photos that feel like you, not just photos made to live on social media and forgotten in a week.

  • YES! Film is our passion, but most of what we capture is digital, giving us the freedom to document your day as it naturally unfolds, without limits. Throughout your wedding or session, we’ll also shoot medium format and 35mm film on a number of different cameras in our collection.

  • We intentionally cap our calendar at around 25-30 weddings per year so that every couple gets our full attention from inquiry to final delivery.

  • We're documentary photographers, which means our job is to tell the truth about your wedding day. So where does AI fit into that?

We occasionally use AI-assisted tools to make initial color and exposure edits, and retouching tools to remove distractions like exit signs, and trash cans. Think of it as a smarter, faster version of what photographers have always done. Every image is then reviewed and edited by us, Lauren & Matt (humans, yay!)

What we don't do is use AI to select your photos or alter the reality of your day. We won't remove guests, manufacture light, or change anything structural about what actually happened. That's not photography, and it's not something we'd be proud to hand you.

Your wedding photos are a document. Decades from now, they should reflect exactly what it felt like to be in that room. You deserve to know exactly what you're getting.

  • For our digital work, we shoot with Sony a7rIV's and Sony a7rIII’s all with professional lenses. We prefer using available light, however on the occasion that we need to use lights we have flashes, strobes, and continuous lights. We also like to include film during most of our shoots, so typically we’ll grab a variety of cameras from our collection to shoot film alongside our digital photos.

  • Absolutely! Your final gallery includes a built-in online shop where you, your friends, and family can easily view, download, share, and order everything from prints and albums to custom wall art and more. Your gallery will remain online for 18 months, and before it expires, we’ll always reach out with the option to extend it.

  • Absolutely! We have liability insurance covered up to 2 million dollars. If your venue asks for this information let us know, and we’ll send a certificate to them directly.

  • After photographing weddings for well over a decade, this has only happened once, and hopefully never again. (Thanks, no thanks Covid.) That said, in the rare event of an emergency, we have a trusted network of experienced photographers and second shooters we can rely on to step in seamlessly. We’re incredibly intentional about who we bring into our world, not just photographers with strong technical skills and years of wedding experience, but people whose personalities, values, and approach genuinely align with our own, so your experience still feels consistent, comfortable, and true to us from start to finish. We also do all of our editing in house, so your gallery will be edited with the same style and care as if we had photographed it ourselves!
